OHS Certification: Health and Safety Audit Certificate
An OHS certification meets established Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, demonstrating compliance, identifying risks, and promoting continuous improvement in protecting workers, effectively proving commitment to OHS principles.
A health and safety audit certificate typically refers to an organizational accreditation that proves a company has an effective safety management system that meets established OHS provincial or national standards, verified by a certified auditor.
The Health and Safety Audit Certificate includes certifications such as:
Safety Management Assessment (e.g., Sarnia-Lambton IEC certificate)
Certificates may have different names across provinces but are usually issued by Construction Safety Associations, Enform, or provincial safety bodies. They demonstrate that a company has implemented a comprehensive Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
Health and Safety Audit Certificate - Letter of Intent
If a subscriber has developed an HSMS but does not yet have three months of documentation to qualify for COR, SECOR, or an equivalent certificate, they may be eligible for a Temporary Letter of Certification (TLC).
